The Beginning . . .
To Be Continued. . . .
Sam D. Bundy Elementary held its annual school-wide Spelling Bee Friday, February 3rd. Twenty classroom winners representing each of the classes in third through fifth grades squared off, in head to head competition. Third grade showed they could hang with the big guys by going through several rounds of words including some from the 6th grade list, before Mikiah Harper was named the winner for third grade. Fourth grade also needed to get to sixth grade words to determine their champion, Savannah Little. The winner for fifth grade, after several rounds and all the way to the challenge list, was Annaca Sutton.
At that point the three grade level winners began a very challenging competition. Third grader Mikiah held on for three rounds of words and left to a huge round of applause by his fellow Bobcats. Savannah and Annaca went back and forth through several more rounds, with Annaca finally getting the better of Savannah on the word serenade. Annaca’s final winning word was hydrogen and the Bobcats erupted into spontaneous applause.
Congratulations to Annaca and to all the Bobcats who participated it this exciting event.
